To many projects at one time

What to do, what to do... when you want to make so many things and you already have at least 5 projects going. Oh and not enough time in the day with a daughter that I love to be with and a mom going through cancer and now living with us. I find I stay up late at night just to get a little me time to sew and still I want to make more. I have done a bad thing and keep buying fabric. I just love it so much, so my sewing room is a mess and I have to make sure my daughter stays out of it or I might lose her in here lol.  I know I don't write much on here and no one reads it, but I like to just post here and there. Any organizing tips out there please send  them my way. Also if there is a way to organize the things that go through my head so quick that I sometime lose the idea please send that info my way too.

Stretch Fabric

I officially say no to stretch fabrics. I should go through the wall of fabric and just take it out now. I don't know why, but stretch and I never work out I have tried here and there through out sewing for more then two decades and only remember once that it did work. That was on a superhero costume. I still don't know how my 13 year old self did it. lol I know I will not get rid of the stretch fabric, but I think I need to take a class in working with it or in my spare time work with it more. (oh what spare time...) I think I need a week of just making and posting things to sell on etsy anything and everything that I can make with all the stuff i have here. Well that was my little and I do mean little rant for the day. If I get a second later I will post more on the Lady Q outfit.
Here is the inspiration for the outfit.

Lady Q dress

This is the second time I have gotten to make a costume for my friend to wear to something big. This time it is a Star Trek theme. A female "Q", I know there is one but she is not dressed like this so right now making the mock up for the dress. Still working on finding everything to make the necklace and I don't know what fabric I am going to use... This needs to be done by Nov. That is only on on my list there is also some little boy pants but they are different and I haven't figured out how to make them work. Some tuck and roll for a car. Oh yes I do car interior, but only old time look. Two little girl dresses, I know there is more but can't think of all of it. I will post as I go. Lets see how it works out.

Back again with the wall-o-fabric

Hello again, it has been a while since I have been on here. I finally started an Etsy site https://www.etsy.com/shop/MelodyBB?ref=pr_shop_more. Now I am going to start my clearing out. I have quite a bit of fabric and I need to start making more outfits and costumes. No I am not going to sell any of my fabric just as is I will be putting things on my Etsy site though for sale. Here is what my sewing room looks like well one side of it...
That is the main part of fabric and I have to get that in order and make items from this fabric. I also have a nice bookshelf of notions. Oh there is more fabric then this. There are tubs in closets and draws of shirts I want to up-cycle. I will keep posting photos of the wall-o-fabric as I make things lets see what comes out of it. Also if you are interested in me making you a costume or outfit please contact me and we can go from there. I will start posting things I have made in the last month. Just need to fix the base of my dress body. :(  Be back soon.

Hand sewing

Well everyone that sews has had to do some hand sewing at some point to put a button on a shirt or as I do to stitch the cap on my corsets and waist cinchers. Some days I find it fun and relaxing but other days I want to find a nice park or some place quite to do the work. Today it was just to hot for me to do it out side and it seemed to go slow. If their are other sewers out there reading this and know of a fast hand stitch please tell me. I have yet to find one. Sometimes I will set it up so I have quite a few caps to stitch on and make a day of just that.

Just thinking about I guess I need to put up photos on this blog so that if someone comes by it they will see some of the thing I have made or like. I am happy to say I have one waist cincher sold. I am also making a great costume that I can't wait to put up. Well happy sewing to you all or tight lacing for you corset lovers like me.

This is a first for me.

Hello all that might read this, which I don't know who it will be. I am another women that loves corsets, waist cinchers and outfits that can be added to them. Yes, I have built an outfit around my corsets. I purchased my first corset in 2002 and from there on felt I had to figure out how to make them. Some of my first didn't look as I wanted them too. Then I made my friends vow renewal outfit and saw how perfect it turned out. I just keep going from there. My second wedding made me want something different to walk down the aisle in, so I turned to leather. Looking on the internet I could not in 2004 find anything but biker babe leather dresses. So I made a leather corset and a mermaid skirt, which had no zippers just laces. Since then I just keep on sewing. There are many other pieces of clothing that I make, but corsets are my love. Well time to get back to sewing. ;)
P.S. Tori hope you are proud of me. "look at what I can do" lol
